Essential Responsibilities:

•Consumer Investigative Center is looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team to help supervise the operations and personnel within the Consumer Investigative Center

•Responsible for researching, conducting unbiased, thorough and timely investigations into viewer allegations

•Will be producing and gathering consumer and investigative content, and will work closely with management, Consumer Hotline Producers, editorial staff, photographers and reporters

•Responsible for organizing, planning and implementing strategy, coordinating operations, analyzing weekly reports to help identify areas of improvement, ensure the “Responde/Responds” promise is met on a timely and accurate basis

•Will help answer questions from staff and help provide guidance and feedback, anticipate escalation and assign team members to pick up calls as needed. Devise ways to optimize procedures and keep staff motivated, ensure adherence to policies for attendance, established procedures, weekly goals etc.

•Will also help drive recruitment, training and development

•Review and research evidence/documents in search of fraud patterns that can be shared across the stations.

•Manage and prioritize a large and varied case load effectively to achieve positive results

•Provide accurate and timely feedback to viewers

•Will establish contacts in consumer, investigative and news field, manage tips and public records requests, compose open records requests, and conduct interviews as needed


Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in consumer and investigative newsgathering and production

• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing personnel

• Experience partnering with legal and working knowledge of federal, state and local laws impacting operations as they relate to research, investigations and undercover news content

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be willing to work in DFW, TX area and able to travel as needed

• Must be willing to work extended hours, overtime, on weekends, and any shift (including nights, weekends and holidays) as assigned

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must have a valid driver’s license

• Must be able to speak, read and write fluently Spanish and English

• Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

• Basic understanding and demonstration of multi-media file formats and strong computer skills

• Strong computer research skills and working knowledge of analyzing data

• Strong interpersonal skills: Must be energetic, motivated and work well with others

• Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills
