Responsibilities

The Global Media Operations (GMO) team in Englewood Cliffs New Jersey is a group of innovative and highly skilled technicians that oversee the inbound and outbound digital delivery of NBCUniversal content.

The GMO prep team is responsible for ensuring content is sourced, prepared and fulfilled to numerous outlets including Broadcast Television, Digital Downloads, Video On Demand, Web Video, International Clients and more.

As a “GMO Media Prep Technician ” you will be responsible for a hybrid skillset that encompasses all aspects of the digital supply chain: Source Content QC, Editing, Transcoding, and Delivery to clients all around the world. Team members should have an intricate understanding of various digital formats, codecs, and the tools that go along with them. This role requires the ability to adapt and learn both internal proprietary and third party applications.

This role requires focus and determination to execute and distribute these assets properly and in a timely manner, keeping in line with our focus on 99.999% reliability and availability.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in either a broadcast operations or postproduction environment

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience on Non Linear Editing Systems (Final Cut Pro, Premiere)

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Quality Control

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer facing role

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience of all Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word,Excel)

  • Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ

  • Must be willing and able to work (sometimes on short notice) on any shift including, overnights, swing, or weekend.

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US

  • Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics

  • An individual with a very strong desire to learn, take on new technologies and challenges, & teach others

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Experience working with Avid/Final Cut/ Adobe Premiere/After Effects/Photoshop

  • Experience working with Closed Captions with MacCaption

  • Familiarity with digital media file types QuickTime,MXF, MPEG, Mp4 etc.

  • Knowledge of various digital delivery methods, ftp, UDCP, Signiant and Aspera

  • Able to multitask and make effective decisions in a high pressure deadline driven environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors

  • Bilingual-English and Spanish a plus
