Responsibilities

Summary: Responsible for completing shot tasks and asset creation under the direction of the Digital Animation Supervisor and Global Visual Effects Supervisor while adhering to Production schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create animations and assets that adhere to the look of established shows.

  • Work with team members in designing and implementing non-traditional animation techniques.

  • Responsible for the final composite and output of the animation scenes that are tasked.

  • Work closely with the Lighting & Compositing Supervisor on CG shows to ensure that the shot matches the aesthetic of the surrounding scenes.

  • Work on scene paint over tasks. Art work for the paint over shot are often provided by the design team but will occasionally require that the art work be created by the Digital Animator working on the scene.

  • Explore new looks and perform RnD for new show look development tasks.

  • Design and create reusable character rigs that are flexible enough to be used for the duration of the series.

  • Address any issues and retakes that come up during the final editorial/post review. Issues may include the reworking of a shot to conform to the Harding Test standard.

  • Ability to rebuild, match and troubleshoot compositing and scene files from our Partner Studios.

  • Collaborate with team to identify and create custom tools to help with pipeline efficiency.

  • Test and provide feedback on new software to the Digital Animation Supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

  • Preferred Experience in After Effects.

  • Preferred Experience in Maya.

  • Experience in ToonBoom Harmony a plus.

Desired Characteristics

  • Preferred Experience in Adobe Flash or Adobe Animate

  • Preferred Experience in a variety of animation styles.

  • Demonstrated character animation skillset.

  • Preferred Experience in advanced compositing and knowledge of Nuke or other node based compositing software.

  • Able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in animation, compositing and FX preferred.

  • Experience in Moho a plus.

  • Experience in Unity a plus.

  • Demonstrated CG generalist skillset a plus.

  • Experience in LightWave3D a plus.

  • Experience with JavaScript or Python a plus.

  • Experience in Television, series or game production is highly desirable.
