The Position

The SVP Advanced Analytics will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Advanced Analytics team within the Enterprise Business Intelligence organization. This team will provide advanced analytics- and data-centric business support across multiple business units at NBCU (Entertainment, Cable, News, Sports, Parks & Resorts, Films, etc.). The team will be responsible for maintaining a broad NBCU perspective with regard to data assets and analytic activity, while aligning and executing with business units at a local level. The position will be responsible for leading key resource teams that will be embedded within and operate locally in four primary geographies: New York, Los Angeles, Orlando and Stamford. The team will provide leadership and expertise in analytics/data, with a focus on initiatives that empower business units to extract greater value from company data assets and deliver insights derived through advanced analytics.


Advocacy for Advanced Analytics and Enterprise Data

  • Advocate for greater utilization of enterprise data and advanced analytics to inform critical business decisions

  • Provide data- and analytics-centric solutions for businesses, complementing existing business teams with additional resources, perspectives, ideas and solutions

  • Bring an analytical, data-driven mindset and focus on solutions to business partners and collaborate with their teams to deliver meaningful value by utilizing enterprise data assets. Strategic Planning and Visioning

  • Develop goals, strategies, and plans needed to achieve the EBI mission of using data and analytics to create value and inform critical business decisions (through application of advanced analytics and a broader utilization of data assets)

  • Implement an enterprise-wide strategic vision to consistently leverage enterprise data assets, information and advanced analytics for optimal business processing and critical decision making within the business unit Leadership

  • Member of the senior leadership team for NBCU Enterprise Business Intelligence organization; strong partnership and collaborative working relationship with other senior leaders within the team

  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with key senior leadership within various Business Units

  • Manage and lead embedded team resources in New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Stamford

  • Collaborate with EBI leadership, the CIO organization, and Audience Studio leadership to deliver a single converged enterprise data asset/environment

  • Attract, develop, mentor, coach, and retain top talent

  • Create a clear vision and specific measurable goals for team members Change Leadership

  • Recognize profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities and champion new ways to capitalize on them

  • Identify potential redundant and duplicative efforts across business units; champion plans and recommendations for solutions that leverage the strength of holistic, shared approaches


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in analytics with increasing responsibility in the Entertainment, Media, Communications, Financial Services or related industries
