This role will initially be located in Orlando, FL for approximately 1 1/2 years and then relocate to Beijing, China.
SUMMARY: Technical leadership position responsible for design, implementation, monitoring, and control of an effective Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Maintenance and Repair Operation (MRO) program for all Theme Park Ride and Resort Facilities and Equipment. The program implemented shall include Predictive, Preventive, and Corrective Servicing tools for all mechanical, electrical, structural, and control systems for the Park Ride Mechanisms, Audio Systems, Show Systems, Resort Wide Facilities, and Utilities with a strong focus on guest and team member safety.
During initial Resort Development, this individual will be responsible for selection of the necessary software and program design development of the Resort Wide CMMS and MRO Systems including defining work flow processes and training of new staff in those processes.
CMMS Management: Directly oversees day-to-day operation and effective functioning of the CMMS System in direct support of Safety and Compliance with Universal and Industry Standards. Monitor systems to provide necessary changes to the system to promote safety, reliability, and quality for the guests and Team Members.
During Resort Development – Participate in software procurement and configuration. Benchmark current work flows at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood and use the best practices to define and implement a comprehensive process for Universal Beijing Resort.
MRO Management: Directly oversee day to day operation and functioning of the MRO System in direct support of Safety and Compliance with Universal and Industry Standards. Maintain an effective supplier network and on property warehouse system to support the safety, reliability, quality, and cost management needs of Technical Services.
During Resort Development. – Research, define, and implement a strategic supplier network. Work with the Park development team to procure and store specialized spare parts for the Ride and Show Equipment. Support Technical Services in the procurement of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E).
Dispatch: Directly oversee day to day operation of a Centralized Call Center for Technical Services to receive trouble calls and dispatch required resources in a timely matter.
During Resort Development – Define dispatch procedures and protocol. Recruit the necessary talent to implement call center.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and summarize Key Process Indicators (KPI) for each department within Technical Services. Reporting shall include Downtime, PM Completion, Department Response Times, Work Order Back Log and Aging. Reporting shall also include key metrics for the MRO process. Recommend actions for continuous process improvement.
During Resort Development – Define required reporting templates and configure the CMMS to support populating the necessary reports.
Safety & Compliance: Directly monitors programs to ensure operational, procedural, and governmental compliance in all Resort Operations. This includes safety standards as well design standards for guests with disabilities.
During Project Planning - Development of operational, practices and procedures based on Universal Parks & Resorts requirements and policies.
Computer/Technical: Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office Tools as well as specific CMMS and MRO applications.
Knowledge: Knowledge of administration and management methods; familiarity with theme park regulatory requirements and strategies
Business Understanding: Management of standard policies and procedures within a major function and may interface with work processes in other divisions.
Communication & Collaboration: Ability to effectively navigate a high degree of personal interaction with internal colleagues, department executive leaders, project development teams, industry organizations and design consultants.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4 year college or university in Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and field training and experience in Industrial Engineering. Master Degree in Business Management is preferred.
10 + years’ experience in Industrial Engineering with a minimum 5 years’ of that experience serving as a Manager and/or Senior Leader.
Experience shall include design and implementation of effective work flow processes for CMMS including MRO operations (purchasing and inventory control).
Ability to speak Mandarin is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Maintenance Management Professional (MMP), and/or Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) or similar certification is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The position is required to work shift hours, holidays and weekends as dictated by the needs of the operations.
