  • Spring Internships are approximately from January 2018 – May 2018.

  • Summer Internships are approximately from June 2018 – August 2018.

JOB SUMMARY : The Data Management intern will work with the Data Management Operations team to leverage appropriate data/information to build Business Intelligence solutions that enable business goals. The intern will be responsible for learning and utilizing tools that build reports, dashboards, etc.; produce technical documentation that depicts end solutions; and communicate with end users regarding deliverables.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with business areas to identify and assess business intelligence requirements

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of business operations

  • Develop, understand and interpret logical and physical data models

  • Determine the business intelligence solutions required to support data mining, analytics, and reporting needs

  • Assist with coordinating the development of necessary project documentation and standards required for compliance and identified best practices

  • Ensure business user issues are resolved in a timely manner

  • Inform management, project managers, team members and key stakeholders about critical issues, project status, changes, etc.

EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.

  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.

  • An official transcript may be required upon request.

  • Preferred majors include: Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics

  • Preferred coursework completed: Database / Systems Development, Lifecycle, Data Science, Programming

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role includes but not limited to:

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with database technologies such as Access, SQL Server, etc.

  • Familiarity with reporting /Ad-hoc analysis tools.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, good analytical and problem solving skills, and critical thinking.

  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

  • Consistent attendance.
