Internship #1 Electrical

SUMMARY: The Intern will work alongside the Electrical team to support the day to day preventative maintenance and operations of Universal Orlando Resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and document preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Gather information for the creation of department S.O.P.’s.

  • Perform basic engineering support, evaluate and document condition of electrical infrastructure; including lighting, fans, etc.

  • Analyze and predict asset conditions and reliability.

  • Perform basic park electrical maintenance.

  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Internship #2 HVACSUMMARY: The Intern will work alongside the HVAC team to support the day to day preventative maintenance and operations of Universal Orlando Resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and document preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Gather information for the creation of department S.O.P.’s.

  • Perform basic engineering support.

  • Evaluate and document condition of HVAC and refrigeration infrastructure; including AHU’s, freezers, coolers, chilled water plants, etc.

  • Perform basic park HVAC/R maintenance.

  • Analyze and predict asset conditions and reliability.

  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Internship #3 Building Management Systems

SUMMARY: The Intern will work alongside the BMS team to support the day to day preventative maintenance and operations of Universal Orlando Resort. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and document preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Gather information for the creation of department S.O.P.’s.

  • Perform basic engineering support.

  • Evaluate and document condition of Building Automation Systems, Fire Alarm Systems and Security Systems.

  • Analyze and predict asset conditions and reliability.

  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution

  • Current class standing of Junior or above

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (official transcripts available upon request)

  • Must have a valid FL driver's license

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement

  • Approximate dates of this internship are from late August 2017 – early December 2017

  • Availability requirement typically includes 24-40 hours per week; Monday through Friday (may include weekends)

  • Flexibility to work early mornings before park opens if needed.

  • Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

  • Preferred coursework completed: Mechanical, Engineering Design, and/or BMS Design coursework preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Practical or hands on experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Superior written & verbal communication skills

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams

  • Prior internship experience is preferred
