Job Description

SUMMARY: Provides work and operating directions on the proper usage of equipment, chemicals and supplies within the work disciplines of shops, floor care, utility and warehousing duties to Team Members. Ensures departmental safety standards are met along with efficient completion of department tasks by providing feedback and leading Team Members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all operational duties related to the daily opening and closing of assigned area. Inspects the work environment to ensure that each location is cleaned and organized at all times. Responsible for maintaining and inspecting show quality standards as set by the department. Ensures that defective equipment related issues are reported in a timely manner to the supervisor on duty and equipment technicians. Assists with equipment and product set up and delivers equipment to the job site.

  • Communicates performance, behavior standards, and expectations. Monitors performance of team members to ensure policies and procedures of the department are followed. Ensures that Team Members are wardrobe compliant and that established service, safety and show quality standards set by the department are maintained. Provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement utilizing the Performance Observation Report and verbal communication. Reports behavior requiring discipline and further documentation to the management team.

  • Provides work direction to Team Members including but not limited to providing work instruction on proper equipment usage and ensuring that all equipment is operated within the established safety guidelines by Team Members. Provides injury prevention training to all team members. Conducts daily shift meetings and safety spot talks. Aids in the dissemination of general company and area specific forms of communication to include current and new company policies and procedures.

  • Oversees the operation and is the first point of contact for Team Members, guests, and interdepartmental partners in the absence of the Supervisor. Gives careful consideration to the impact of decisions and makes timely decisions to solve problems with a sense of urgency. Effectively applies the UO service model of Look, Focus, Act to satisfy and resolve the needs of the guests and the Team Members.

  • Performs job duties of Night Park Attendant. Maintains park quality standards by thoroughly performing all cleaning duties.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

SCOPE: Training of new hire team members. Cleaning and detailing retail shops, planning and completion of floor care projects for all venues, concrete & street cleaning. Ensure the proper usage of equipment by all Team Members; oversee the placement of Team Members and warehousing duties such as delivery of chemicals and supplies and laundry duties. Responsible for non-electrical vacuum cleaner maintenance.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

  • Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures; detailed understanding of work unit.

RELATIONSHIPS OUTSIDE WORK UNIT:

  • Exchange of information which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-1 year. Employed with UO for a minimum of 90 days required. Six months to one year experience providing work direction preferred

  • 1-2 years Utility Experience: pressure washing, hosing & tractor position

  • 0-1 years Shops Experience: Cleaning, organizning small groups

  • 1-2 years Floor Care: Floor equipment, carpet cleaning, waxing and stripping floors

  • 0-1 years Front of House: Cleaning, delivery of cleaning supplies, chemicals, laundry

  • 0-1 years Clubs Experience: Cleaning, organizing small groups

  • 1-2 years Restaurants Experience: Cleaning, Kitchen cleaning, Kitchen equipment cleaning, delivering of supplies, chemicals.

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s license required

    ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:

  • Completion of UO Lead Training program within 120 days of assignment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) Ability to work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; Will require the use of a motorized company vehicle or a leased or personal vehicle for company business.

  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) Will require the use of a Highreach (Aerial lift); Will require working with compressed gas cylinders or tanks; Will require working with oils/fuels; Will require working with aerosols (spray paints, brake cleaner).
