Responsibilities

The Guest Systems Support Technical Specialist is responsible for participating in the overall sustainment, ongoing strategy, standardization, analysis, design, implementation and configuration of guest systems and services at Universal Parks and Resort, Orlando. The Guest Systems Support Technical Specialist will work with solutions and tools built on an emerging cognitive computing platform and participate in a highly collaborative team environment leveraging agile methodologies and structure.

General responsibilities include:

  • Use structured problem-solving and analytical skills and tools to design, implement, upgrade and sustain large scale business applications and services.

  • Work from high level requirements through detailed specifications, prototype, software deployment and administration.

  • Automation, coding, testing and implementing solutions in and around guest systems and services.

  • Enforce and establish proper documentation, process design, and architectural models to depict guest systems and services current and future state.

This position requires the ability to quickly understand supporting business processes and translate them into system designs that will support the objectives. The Technical Specialist should also have a solid understanding of data analytics, data intelligence, service oriented architecture and cognitive computing technology and principals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates in team environments and independently with vendors, business partners and IT teams on projects, support, application development and standardization.

  • Analyze internal and external processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement and create specifications.

  • Implementing high quality, scalable and extendable solutions using Gateway, custom and other enterprise applications.

  • Drive definition and creation of metrics to identify critical issues impacting operations and strategy.

  • Unit testing and automation of test cases for all assigned deliverables.

  • Drive methodologies with business and IT constituents at all levels through a hands-on approach to implement best practices.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Requirements:

  • Must be able to demonstrate detailed technical knowledge in the following areas:

  • SQL Server

  • Complex SQL Stored Procedures

  • Web and mobile application triage and CSS development

  • Angular JS, HTML, Node JS,.NET/C# and/or Java development

  • Websphere Commerce

  • Technical, Process, and Test automation

  • Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Core infrastructure design

  • Preferred requirements:

  • Web store support experience

  • Mobile design

  • Theme Park experience

  • ITIL Certified

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex system issues.

  • Experience with one or more databases such as DB2, SQL Server etc.

  • Database foundations for modeling, configuration and information management in SQL Server.

  • Design and development of customized stored procedures, applications and reporting.

  • Experience working in an Agile structured environment.
