u>Role Purpose

This position will report to the Senior Vice President, Communications, NBC Sports Group and assist the SVP and Communications team with day-to-day activities. In this role, you will complete administrative tasks for the department and support the team in managing media relations for NBC Sports Group’s portfolio of properties.


  • Manage phone, calendar, appointments, travel and expenses for SVP, Communications, NBC Sports Group

  • Coordinate meetings and conference calls, manage phone, travel and expenses for Communications team

  • Responsible for daily press clips process; monitor major papers, trades and online outlets for relevant NBC Sports Group news and industry clips and distribute to company-wide distribution list

  • Monitor live-event coverage on NBC and NBCSN

  • Create and distribute listings for NBC Sports and NBC Olympics

  • Create and maintain media lists

  • Write and edit biographies, fact sheets, transcriptions, talking points, previews for weekend sports programming and other press materials

  • Assist with industry research and fact-checking

  • Update NBC Sports Group’s press and internal websites

  • Manage and direct projects for the Communications’ Page and internship program

  • Distribute press releases to the media through Cision; train other department members on such systems as needed

  • Assist in multiple capacities as internal events and projects arise; such as the One Month Out Press Event

  • Track and file departmental invoices and handle departmental purchasing card expenses

  • Coordinate facilities services for department


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications or Public Relations

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in the public relations area, or educational focus in PR/Sports/Communications

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in the entertainment/media industryEligibility Requirements
