Role Summary

A critical role for the success of the ANZ UNI group, this role will support in shaping the overall voice and content mix for the new portfolio of channels for ANZ. Leading a diverse team, this role will be responsible for significant content acquisition with the objective to drive audience and ad sales revenues.

Essential Responsibilities

• Active participant of leadership team; contributes to the broader strategic debate as the programming expert within the business

• With VP Channels, define and execute long term programme strategy for each channel brand across a scripted and unscripted portfolio

• Help realise double digit growth in ad sales revenues through effective collaboration with ad sales and marketing teams, as well as building channels that allow for this growth

• Manage significant programming investment, PCR modelling & budget across a suite of 5 scripted and unscripted channels, each with a distinct genre

• Lead complex acquisition negotiations for a broad customer base, including US studios, distributors and independent producers

• Effective partnership with Creative Director to meet ratings and creative expectations across entire brand portfolio

• Source content that’s relevant for audience and develop strategies to fold these into properties

• Drive successful audience retention; i.e. through strategic and creative management of break structures

• Develop new and innovative approaches to accessing new content; be a thought leader both in ANZ and for wider UNI group

• Manage annual schedules for diverse channel portfolio to meet budget whilst maximising ratings

• Lead and inspire team of program planners and program schedulers

• Have in-depth understanding of competitors, and leverage audience insight to ensure success of channels

• Collaborate with the research team to ensure the relevant data is applied to our scheduling and acquisition strategy

• Work with legal and schedulers to ensure all regulatory programming requirements are met

• Review new products and keep up to date on US and global programming trends. Share newly produced shows and trends with team

• Stay up to date on latest Content Management System upgrades and develop best practices to increase efficiencies and productivity


Experience / Requirements

• Significant experience in program acquisition with US studios, distributor and independents across scripted and unscripted portfolio

• Proven track record of successful concurrent channel launches across new and refreshed brands

• A proven track record of managing a successful programming team

• A proven track record of ratings and channel positioning success across multiple genres, and with a 18 – 45 demographic channel base

• Proven track record of successful channel positioning that has increased ad sales revenues
