  • Perform on-air anchor responsibilities for Today in LA, the weekday morning NBC4 newscast across KNBC’s multiple platforms

  • Responsible for gathering information on current traffic conditions, preparing the information for presentation in the morning newscasts, and presenting the information live on-air

  • Present traffic information to the viewer in a professional manner

  • Interact in an engaging and informative way on-air with other morning news and weather anchors

  • Must be able to function in a news reporter or anchor role on some days, both on-air and on station's web site (or other digital platform)

  • Will work closely with station's traffic information vendor

  • Active engagement in Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

  • Participate in station-sponsored and philanthropic events and all assigned special promotions projects

  • Perform field reporting, fill-in for other shows, and other temporary assignments, as needed


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience television anchor/reporter experience in a top 25 market. Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be able to work early morning hours, with flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights if needed

  • Successful candidate will be required to join the AFTRA Union if not already a member and remain a member in good standing of that Union

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Characteristics


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred

  • Experience working with iNews, WSI

  • Very strong speech skills with the ability to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news

  • Strong understanding and demonstration of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including a current knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations

  • Experience in automated studio environments

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment

  • Knowledge of Southern California roads and highways, as well as experience in Los Angeles market and familiarity with Southern California audience and communities

  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.

  • Strong computer skills, and be able to work with a variety of computer graphics applications
