Responsibilities

The Payroll Project and Service Improvement Lead oversees projects and initiatives that improve and/or develop the payroll-related services delivered to the NBCUniversal (“NBCU”) companies supported by NBCU’s payroll function (“Employee Disbursement Services” or “EDS”). The Payroll Project and Service Improvement Lead reports to the Director, Service Change and Data Analytics. This role will develop, manage, and drive to successful conclusion a portfolio of projects and initiatives that add to or continuously improve the payroll-related services and functions delivered by the EDS team. The Lead will perform the core tasks to drive projects and initiatives to conclusion including creating and progressing plans, developing complex analyses and supporting tools, facilitating discovery, enabling team performance, and developing and delivering client- and executive-facing communications. The lead collaborates closely with EDS’ clients, partners, and outsourced service providers. These activities are performed with a commitment to client service excellence, respect for the team and its members, curiosity, and a desire to both acquire and then share knowledge with the organization.

Job Duties

  • Oversees projects and initiatives of varying scope and size ranging from the functional lead of an enterprise technology implementation through improvement of processes through better use of desktop tools and automation

  • Facilitates the discovery of, documents, and gains consensus of client service requirements

  • Prepares for and facilitates team and client meetings effectively and efficiently

  • Develops relationships both within EDS and with its partners and clients

  • Pursues knowledge and understanding of both EDS and client processes

  • Develops meticulous documentation including process flows, spreadsheet analyses, service requirements, test plans, and reporting dashboards

  • Assembles and delivers updates to EDS leadership and project clients

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience required

  • Working knowledge of payroll and payroll tax processing

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in or consulting with large, enterprise-wide payroll organizations

  • Minimum 3 years of experience overseeing payroll-related change or improvement projectsAdditional Job Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and structured problem solving skills
