Responsibilities

The Vice President, Media Platforms will collaborate with Universal Pictures stakeholders to identify and harness advancements in technologies to enhance our content workflows and processes across production, post-production, and distribution functions. The candidate will be responsible for developing a technology roadmap closely linked with business objectives and ensuring related initiatives are successfully delivered. The Vice President, Media Platforms will report to the Universal Pictures’ Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaboratively develop, gain consensus, and implement relevant technology roadmaps for Universal Pictures

• Effectively articulate complicated technology issues and advise Universal Pictures’ leadership and key stakeholders on business implications of technology developments and trends

• Effectively develop business cases to facilitate ROI-driven technology initiatives

• Represent Universal Pictures’ agenda within the industry

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the technology and media space, with an emphasis on content workflows in production and/or distribution contexts

• Demonstrated experience leading successful technology-enabled process change

• Be a recognized leader within the media and entertainment industry

• Experience working collaboratively with production, marketing, business, and legal executives

• Built successful partnerships internally and with external third parties to enable and drive migration capabilities across platforms

• Extraordinary influencing skills with all levels of leadership and external partners

• Robust understanding of the creative environment of filmmaking

• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Demonstrated success managing teams

• Experience negotiating complex agreements

• Experience working with or for a production house a plus

• Degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

• MBA or equivalent business management experience a plus
