This role will oversee the maintenance of the company owned facility on Nebraska Avenue in Washington, D.C. and is responsible for ensuring that the site's critical systems are operational through regular inspection and maintenance. The Facilities Manager will also develop and maintain local vendor relationships and perform budget and procurement duties as required.

Job Duties

  • Achieve 100% uptime of site critical systems and equipment including Power/UPS, Back-up generator, Fuel supply, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), BMS, Plumbing/Water supply, Telecom PBX, Fire safety systems and equipment

  • Manage, develop and schedule staff of 5 Building EngineersCoordinate and execute inspections, permitting, testing, general maintenance and repair of the critical site systems and equipment.

  • Manage environmental health and safety (EHS) ensuring full compliance with OSHA requirements and company policies and complete proper documentation

  • Oversee EHS training including emergency procedures and ensure that all emergency systems are tested regularly

  • Manage hazardous chemical inventory and submit proper documentation

  • Manage broadcast tower, including the lighting system and all structural requirements (includes coordination for site visits with American Tower)

  • Oversee facility Mailroom including managing the vendor relationship and ensuring facility requirements are adhered to

  • Oversee facility cafeteria, ensuring all equipment is functional and adherence to health requirements

  • Oversee all telecom requirements including management of the local PBX system, install / decommissioning of lines, cabling when necessary, procuring of 800 numbers and conference bridges, management of all phone lines, circuits, etc.

  • Employ effective organizational and time-management skills to deliver solutions to routine and emergency requests and general facility maintenance needs within established timelines

  • Conduct space planning,Coordinating the maintenance of proper inventory levels for housekeeping and site supplies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for maximum site efficiency. The vendor relationship management includes work with any outsourced vendors used to support the day-to-day operations of the site (housekeeping, landscaping, waste management, HVAC, boilers, elevators, PBX system, fire alarm and sprinkler pump system, parking, etc) as well as with those vendors used for the maintenance, preventative maintenance or repair of critical site systems and equipment.

  • Knowledge of the Purchase Request/Purchase Order process is key in order to support maintenance and repairs. (Process improvement, collaboration, planning, budgeting, partnership

  • Create and maintain reports using Excel, Word, or other system tools for submission to Senior Management at the site and/or Corporate Facilities personnel.

  • Identify efficiencies that enhance bottom line results.


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing in house trades and external vendorsMinimum of 3 Years’ experience as Commercial Facility Manager/Property Manager

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering / Facility Management or equivalent work experience

  • Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must be willing and available to be on-call 24/7 and work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays as required

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
