Associate Buyer, Food Services (Revenue Operations)

JOB SUMMARY: May purchase inventoried and non-inventory food products/ingredients as directed by Senior Manager. May reviews prepare routine bid specifications, issue bid requests, review quotations, and interpret purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, acting as a liaison between user departments, vendors, and accounts payable. Resolves technical and pricing issues and ensures predetermined schedules are met. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation
May solicit price bids and proposals from pre-approved suppliers; conducts evaluation of all bids, and recommend suppliers for award; coordinates with Sr. Buyer to negotiate final prices; may place orders, and arranges deliveries per a predetermined vendor specific delivery schedule
Verifies Eatec variance report and resolves all discrepancies and duplicate postings to ensure proper payment prior to ERS payments; Logs and approves freight charges as per department policy
Resolves pricing discrepancies on purchase orders that differ from PO specifications confirmed by suppliers; researches and resolves receiving and invoicing issues where applicable
Maintains metrics, report card and other databases for the Purchasing Department; assists in the creation of Revenue Operations annual supplier business reviews
Maintains and updates supplier database and completes necessary paperwork and reports; manages pricing update process in Eatec; coordinates new vendor setups and existing vendor changes through VeRA and Support Central
Supports key company initiatives/projects as assigned.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

High school degree or GED:R
Associate’s degree:Required (Business, Finance, or Supply Chain/Logistics)
Bachelor’s degree:Preferred (Business, Finance, or Supply Chain/Logistics)
Master’s degree in:NR
- 1-3 years general commodity buying experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience, Food buying experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : Communication Skills – Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information in various settings; one-on-one, small groups; customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
