JOB SUMMARY : Performs basic engineering support to evaluate existing and proposed infrastructure associated with non-ride related theme park and back of house facilities. Evaluates condition of hardscaping, interior and exterior building structural and cosmetic components, pavement, and underground utilities. Recommends maintenance programs, repair, replacement, and planned improvements. Reviews drawings and specifications for new projects, refurbishment and rehabilitation of existing facilities. May support facility and utility downtime recovery if necessary. Duties include troubleshooting, root cause analysis, redesign assignments, and management and inspection of implemented improvements. All work shall be compliant with applicable codes, regulations and standards including: ASME, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, and OSHA, among others.
Performs evaluations of existing and proposed Facilities building, hardscaping and utility infrastructure with a focus on improving reliability and reducing operation and maintenance expenses. Recommends modifications to building components, hardscaping materials and utility infrastructure. Prepares long range capital plans for facility and utility repair, replacement and upgrades.
Reviews plans and specifications of proposed new projects for compliance with Facilities related Operational Performance Specifications. Performs design modifications and implements solutions to improve safety, reliability, operational readiness, cost effectiveness and serviceability of civil and building infrastructure.
Manages assigned projects from design through installation to include developing project budgets and schedules, construction observation, testing, and training.
Prepares scope of work documents for engineering projects. Develops maintenance procedures and prepares maintenance and/or operation manual updates. Reviews and recommends modifications to Universal Operational Performance Specifications.
Interfaces with Facilities supervisors and managers to resolve problems and design issues. Coordinates engineering activities between Facilities supervisors, managers, technicians and other internal department personnel as necessary. May serve as project lead and provide direct guidance to technicians in the execution of maintenance or project related work.
Monitors and interfaces with vendors/equipment manufacturers to resolve problems and design issues. Prepares and reviews equipment specifications and performs technical evaluation of emerging vendor products/services.
Performs engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of interior and exterior building structural and cosmetic system improvements.
Provides project status of assigned task list items to Facilities supervisors, managers, technicians and other internal department personnel as necessary. Updates project status via Maximo on a regular basis.
SCOPE: Responsible for performing basic re-design and development efforts of all Facilities related hardscape, building structural and cosmetic components and underground utility systems to provide increased reliability and operational improvements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years demonstrated project engineering experience with 1 year of project management experience in an engineering environment pertaining to the development of civil and building infrastructure required.
3-5 years field experience with evaluation and analysis of hardscape, building and utility system conditions required.
3-5 years “Hands-on” experience with the repair and replacement of hardscaping, building components and utility infrastructure required.
1 year experience supervising or providing direction to semi-skilled or skilled trades workforce; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Indirect supervision of Facilities technicians on a project-by-project or fault analysis/isolation assistance basis. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional Engineer license desired but not required.
Analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of Facilities related systems.
Proven ability to work with team members of diverse experience and educational backgrounds.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications.
Experience with generating drawings, specifications, acceptance test procedures and maintenance/training documents.
Proficient in developing and tracking project budgets and schedules.
Knowledgeable in NEC, ANSI, ASME and ASTM standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
