Looking for a challenge? Our Entertainment Technicians work on the most technologically advanced live shows in the world. Using your problem solving and technical skills you would work with many different pyrotechnic systems to put on a spectacular one of a kind experience

Pyro/Special Effects: To give those wow moments in shows and events a Pyrotechnic Tech handles all explosive material and equipment. They have the technical knowledge to think on their feet to ensure guest and Team Member safety.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assists with the use and operation of the special effects equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.

  • Responsible for the appropriate installation and maintenance of special effects equipment.

AV and Audio Projects Tech: As an Audio Tech you have the opportunity to create unique auditory experiences with concerts, shows, and special projects. The technical knowledge and skills you and your team have you will work together to wow the guest every day.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assists with the operation of the audio/visual equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.

  • Operates equipment for a live show or event.

  • Takes direction for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment from crew chief and/or lead.

  • Responsible for the appropriate instillation, setup/storage, and maintenance of audio/visual equipment

  • Troubleshoots technical problems as they occur

  • Assists with the operation of the lighting equipment within the assigned venue or event.

Lighting Tech: Lighting Techs create exceptional visual experiences for guests during shows, concerts or events. You have the possibility to be front or back of house, working in a team environment to make that memorable moment for all guests who come to Universal Orlando

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assists with the operation of the lighting equipment within the assigned venue or event.

  • Includes but not limited to the operation of lighting in a live show situation.

  • Troubleshoots and takes direction for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment.

  • Responsible for the appropriate installation, setup/storage, and maintenance of lighting equipment.

Entertainment Maintenance: Being hands on as an Entertainment Maintenance Tech, you would have the unique opportunity to use your critical thinking skills to help maintain and repair all equipment for different shows and venues throughout Universal Orlando.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Technical Entertainment Systems.

  • Inspections include testing, cleaning, replacement, verification and/or calibration of applicable components and quality control

  • Troubleshoots system failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective actions.

  • Researches defective components and instructional information to complete the repair process when required. This entails logical extensive troubleshooting, referencing of technical drawings/manuals and specifications.

  • Provides data entry into the HireTrack system, logging of P.M. inspections, corrective actions, and/or repairs made while listing parts required implementing the repairs.

  • Completes hard copy preventative maintenance records and physical logbook entries.

  • Performs projects and modifications to equipment and systems as directed by Universal Orlando Entertainment.

Parade Float Driver: Parade Float Drivers maintain the highest quality of safety for different parades from Mardi Gras to the end of the year holidays, giving guests those unique feel good moments.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Safely Drive Float units weighing up to 10,000lbs. Safely maneuver obstacles both back stage and onstage.

  • Adheres to predetermined driving locations and speeds while maintaining communication and direction.

  • Tows other float units; driving backstage and onstage; loading and unloading of characters; and assisting with props and Technical Systems readiness.

  • Operates technical equipment such as on board show control, communications, Audio, Lighting, Video and Special Effects.

Rigging Tech: Rigging Techs ensure safety above all else while providing their technical knowledge and skills to help provide safe environments in shows and events for guests and Team Members.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assists with the operation of the rigging equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.

  • Troubleshoots and takes of directions for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment

  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment.

Video Tech: Techs in the video projects use their knowledge to use and maintain all video equipment to record concerts, events, and special occasions all over Universal Orlando.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assists with the operation of the video equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.

  • Operates of equipment for a live show or event.

  • Takes direction for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment from crew chief and/or lead.

Stage Operator/Stage Tech: Working behind the scenes, Stage Operators and Stage Techs work at different venues using their unique skill set to put on amazing shows for the guests to enjoy.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Responsible for the daily technical operation of standard attraction based shows or events.

  • Assists with lighting, staging, operations, Special Effects and audio to ensure timely completion of all technical duties within their assigned venue or event.

  • Performs tasks with minimal supervision and to trouble shoot within assigned discipline

All Positions in Entertainment Tech require:

  • Provides logging of technical performance/show quality, detailed examples for maintenance personnel.

  • Performs small projects and modifications to systems as directed by Universal Orlando Management.

  • Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices within the assigned venue or event.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
