Universal Orlando is looking for qualified individuals to be Parade Float Drivers. While driving floats during the parade Team Members maintain the highest level of quality and safety while using their experience to set the stage for guests.

Tech IV, Float Driver : Responsible for driving, towing, guiding and supporting Parade Floats.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Safely Drive Float units weighing up to 10,000lbs.

  • Safely maneuver obstacles both back stage and onstage.

  • Adhere to predetermined driving locations and speeds while maintaining communication and direction.

  • Duties may include, but are not limited to, towing of other float units; driving backstage and onstage; loading and unloading of characters; and assisting with props and Technical Systems readiness.

  • Operate technical equipment such as on board show control, communications, Audio, Lighting, Video and Special Effects.

  • Provide logging of technical performance/show quality, detailed examples for maintenance personnel.

  • Perform small projects and modifications to systems as directed by Universal Orlando Management.

Tech III, Float Driver : Responsible for driving, towing, guiding and supporting Parade Floats.

  • Safely maneuver obstacles both back stage and onstage.

  • Adhere to predetermined driving locations and speeds while maintaining communication and direction.

  • May include but not limited to Towing of other float units, Driving backstage and onstage, loading and unloading of characters and assisting with props Technical Systems readiness

  • Operate technical equipment such as on board show control, communications, Audio, Lighting, Video and Special Effects.

  • Provide logging of technical performance/show quality, detailed examples for maintenance personnel.

  • Perform small projects and modifications to systems as directed by Universal Orlando Management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Positions in Parade Float Drivers require:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift and or move between 25 and 50 pounds

  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Maintaining a clean work environment with use of cleaning chemicals

  • Tech III Parade Drivers Require CDL
