JOB SUMMARY : The Integrated Marketing Communications team is responsible for the development of the communication strategy and the execution of all marketing campaigns and projects for the destination. This includes, but is not limited to writing communication strategy plans, timelines, creative briefs, and ensuring projects are created on-time and within budget. This position requires a strong working knowledge of integrated marketing including communication strategy, creative development, and content distribution channels such as CRM, social media, media, and publicity to ensure campaign connectivity. This role will focus on marketing communications efforts for the domestic travel agent segment and will work with external clients. This is a collaborative role which works closely with several teams across the Marketing & Sales division at Universal Orlando Resort.
Communication strategy and marketing plan development. Work closely with internal partners (Sales) to understand their business goals and key annual initiatives. Manage the development and execution of annual marketing efforts by collaborating with key internal partners on campaign strategies and tactics. Collaborates regularly with internal partners across the division such as online and offline media, social media, CRM, publicity, etc. Responsible for presenting plans, campaign efforts and results to leadership and internal partners.
Manage day-to-day development process for marketing campaigns and projects. Partner with internal and external creative agencies on a regular basis in the creative development phase of developing a marketing campaign. Write creative briefs and provide business insight and marketing objectives to creative team. Manage timelines to ensure tactics are delivered on time and within budget. Possess strong organizational skills to balance multiple projects with staggered delivery dates, as well as prioritize tactic delivery and manage internal stakeholder expectations.
Ensures there is consistent alignment between internal partners and the marketing communications team. Leads regularly scheduled meetings with internal partners and participate in internal cross-channel alignment meetings.
Manage multiple direct reports on day-to-day campaign and project management, guide them for success.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to effectively present information to individuals and groups.
Must have strong organizational and project management skills.
Must be able to write routine business correspondence and timelines.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Working knowledge of Workamajig workflow system is a plus, but not required.
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus, but not required.
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, and/or business administration. Master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of relevant experience in marketing communications. Previous marketing and sales experience within the travel/tourism industry is a plus. Role will be working closely with Travel Industry, internal and external sales partners; knowledge of these areas is preferred.
