JOB SUMMARY : Manages/oversees a variety of internal Diversity programs. Supports the monthly multicultural programming for Team Member Resource Groups. Acts as the liaison with internal and some external partners to execute all aspects of Team Member Resource group programming. Works to promote programming that is aligned with the D&I Strategic Key Drivers: Engage, Educate, Recruit, Retain, Measure and Brand.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates closely with Team Member Resource Groups (TMRG) to ensure Universal as an employer of choice. Develops and maintains existing SOPs for TMRG programming, surveys and succession plans. Develops and supports diversity and inclusion related content for TMRG Steering Committees, Executive Champions and Executive Inclusion Council. Researches and identifies opportunities for TMRG programming. Prepares and distribute information and presentations related to program offerings. Provide reports as requested by senior management.

  • Provides support, researches and generates content regarding D.O.T. Series (Diversity of Thought) focused on cultural competence. Ensures content is relevant to the need for the business and in-line with diversity and inclusion strategy to create learning opportunities related to generational differences, transgender and multicultural themes in the workplace and marketplace.

  • Supports, plans and executes diversity and inclusion internal and external events. Responsible for developing all aspects of the OneNote planning tool and logistics plan prior to event. During event serves as team leader for one or more major processes providing oversight, coaching and decision-making for assigned staff. Conducts review with team post-session to determine process improvement and on-going diversity event adjustments.

  • Works with TA&D and HR partners to support TMRG activities connected to talent pipeline initiatives. Collaborates with Community Relations and other external partners to execute activities related to TMRG focus areas of Community, Culture, Commerce, Career and Competence.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE: Develops and delivers programs to support Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree (AA) is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Graphic Design, Communications, or Multicultural Studies is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Three to five years Human Resources, Diversity or multicultural business experience in a fast-paced environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail orientated and be able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence and articles for publication which conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and moderately complex written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to conduct research, summarize findings and disseminate information to both internal and external stake holders. Ability to design and implement tracking systems of analytics associated with metrics & data points, determining trends and proposed results.
