JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for technical team leadership within the Digital Solutions Delivery team, with primary focus on commerce, web and mobile sites, content delivery and other digital technology, providing leadership and delivery of project solutions across relevant client groups, performing consulting, analysis, training, mentoring of resources, and cost estimations. The Digital Solutions Delivery team is strategically focused and as such will require the person in this role to stay abreast of changes within the e-commerce and digital technology space. Assist with selection of employee and consultant resources. Partner with the project management office, project managers, clients groups, and other IT team members to ensure the strategic project methodology focus is appropriately followed.


  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers both employee, and contractor in the delivery of projects small, medium, and large for Digital Solutions Delivery. Primary focus will be on development of AngularJS / Node software solutions, but will also include business rule creation to allow for personalization / targeting, content management and language support. Responsible for all stages of the project life cycle from initiation to implementation and initial post support.

  • Mentor other developers both employee and contractors. Provide both time and cost estimates on level of work to support projects, and meet schedules as agreed to. Help identify and enforce best practices to be applied to project design and implementation.

  • Provide training on the tools to business users, and other developers. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with client groups, project management, and other IT team members, by employing effective communication skills and building strong working relationships.

  • Assist program manager with vendor selection, drafting SOW’s, vendor evaluation, and monitoring progress through to implementation.

  • As projects advance through the project lifecycle, work with other IT members to ensure a seamless transition to IT Operations for continued support and maintenance of systems or projects implemented.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree – Technical or Business degree or highly relevant equivalent experience is required


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 5-7 years equivalent work experience.

  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.

  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.

  • Hands-on experience developing unit test cases and plans.

  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • On-call availability on a regular basis.

  • Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

  • Strong customer service skills.


  • Solid UI / Front End development experience using AngularJS (1.X, 2.0, 4.0) / Node, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS 3, HTML 5, and XML

  • Understanding and some experience developing in .NET / MVC a plus

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing, and operations


  • Proven track record of successfully implementing large web / commerce projects in a highly integrated environment.

  • Understanding of content management, continuous integration, services, commerce systems and CCID practices.

  • Experience with complex customer focused websites.

  • Clear experience and understanding of Angular Style Guide such as John Papa.

  • In depth understanding of HTML 5.0 and CSS 3.0 concepts and best practices.

  • Knowledge of caching methodologies in support of global web / commerce systems.

  • Proven experience with ensuring high performance of responsive websites from desktop to mobile.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: System solutions identification requires considerable analytical and creativity skills. Requires the use of sound business judgment in coordinating the requirements of the user group(s) to which they are assigned and in their role as liaison to the project leader.
