**The current opportunity will be part time hours. This position is ideal for a current student studying Industrial Engineering.
JOB SUMMARY : Perform time studies and/or coordinate (acquire temporary staff, develop schedule, inform operations and oversee) the collection of time study data, make observations and form opinions regarding issues identified, their cause and possible solutions.
Business Development supports all UO departments, working with team members ranging from front-line employees through upper management throughout the organization.
Through time studies, observations, or data analysis, gathers data to form opinions regarding issues identified, their cause and possible solutions.
Performs analysis aimed at improving operations, determining hourly labor requirements and developing planning standards. In addition, assists with analyses that are smaller subcomponents of larger more complex projects.
Provides input into the design for simple studies (and under the direction of the supervisor); plans study schedule, meets and trains hourly data collectors (when applicable) and ensures that data is being collected properly. Based on study observations, provides input to aid in troubleshooting and problem solving. Manages the data input and organization of time study data collected.
Develops ad hoc queries and reporting needed for others/users to track and monitor operating performance. Updates and maintains existing databases and spreadsheet tables.
Gathers and manipulates large quantities of data into a format necessary for analysis.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE: The scope of this position encompasses a variety of business units, processes, team members and inventory support. Business Development supports all departments throughout UO, therefore scope can include Operations, Revenue Operations, Entertainment, Technical Services, Administration, Citywalk, Sales and Marketing, IT, and support of similar projects for USH when applicable. Primary responsibilities will include time studies, observations, inventory control, data reporting and analysis, and forming opinions and offering recommendations to improving processes, allocating resources, planning and executing budgets.
High school degree or GED is required.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
1-3 Years: Operations Experience is required.
3-5 Years: Operations and/or technical/ analytical experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
