JOB SUMMARY : Aids in the development, implementation, and oversight of Universal Orlando Aquatics operational training programs. Provides Aquatics client support and conducts training for hourly and non-exempt Team Members at an advanced level. Responsible for facilitating the American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard courses and related curriculum.


  • Maintains and facilitates structured training programs and initiatives in support of the company’s training objectives and standard operating procedures including Lifeguard Orientations and ongoing awareness training, required safety and compliance courses and incorporation of American Red Cross certified curricula. Ensure Team Members can demonstrate the necessary lifesaving skills in a safe, effective and timely manner on an ongoing basis through appropriate audit processes

  • Partners to identify and communicate key measurement and data to Talent Development and Operational Leadership. Utilizes data to assist in identifying potential training opportunities.

  • Perform administrative duties associated with training and development programs to include: inputting certifications into the American Red Cross database, monitoring renewal of all safety training and maintaining inventory and care of Lifeguard training equipment.

  • Identifies and evaluates program facilitators to ensure quality and consistency of training. Provides ongoing feedback for improvement.

  • Delivers Guest Service related training to the Aquatics division and conducts associated observations to ensure success.

  • Serves as primary contact and partner with American Red Cross

SCOPE: Coordinates and facilitates training classes. Assist in the development, implementation, updating and sustainability of Lifeguard training programs. Serves as advanced level expert in Aquatics and UO related safety and compliance programs.


  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Ability to effectively present focused ARC programs and/or operational information to small or large groups to ensure Team Member understanding.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive of technical instructions and rapidly apply and convey the application of these concepts while considering multiple variables.

  • Experience in Instructional Design related tools preferred.

EDUCATION: High school degree required; Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years lifeguard or Aquatics related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the service industry or related field preferred.


  • Holds a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification,

  • Successful completion of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor course with a written test score of 80% or higher in the designated timeframe.

  • Demonstrate all lifeguarding skills proficiently; to include a 300 yard continuous swim, 10 lb. timed brick retrieval in 8 feet of water, and a 2 minute tread without using arms or hands for support. Your talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.
