Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience shooting video and knowledge of live remote capabilities in a Broadcast station

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience editing stories

  • Must be able to perform medium/heavy physical work including lifting and carrying camera equipment ranging from 15 lbs. to 30 lbs. (in camera weight) for extended periods of time to shoot on remote locationsAdditional Job Requirements

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must have ability to work any of a 24/7 shift

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2 years Photography/editing experience in a medium or major market TV News station

  • Knowledge of P2 cameras and Edius Pro edit systems.

  • Knowledge of wireless newsgathering technology

  • Team player who is flexible

  • Knowledge of Ethics and Standards regarding Investigative Journalism

  • Show skill in shooting and editing investigations, including working with hidden cameras and document-heavy stories.

  • Strong storytelling, editorial, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work under extreme deadlines

  • Experience working on investigative shoots

  • Ability to simultaneously shoot, edit and operate an ENG truck

  • Satellite truck operation

  • Portable microwave gear experience
