Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of over 4 years editorial experience working in production at a network/cable news operation

  • Must have a minimum of over 3 years producing pieces for broadcast

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree

  • Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C.

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Must be willing to travel extensively

  • Experience covering Washington D.C. stories

  • Solid skills producing live reports including coordinating with a live control room

  • Ability to shoot digital video

  • Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news current events, public policy and politics

  • Engagement on digital platforms

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

  • Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices
